1998 Take Five (First five episodes) 5 x 5 minutes

These films and television series were made in collaboration with the great Australian icon Betty Churcher (1931-2015) who was the director of the National Gallery of Australia 1990-1997. The series Take Five (1998), 13 x 5 minutes was produced by John Lewis, written and presented by Betty Churcher and directed by John Hughes. It was broadcast on ABC TV in an excellent ‘slot’ just before the 7.00 pm news on Sunday nights. It was the first of Betty Churchers very successful forays into art education on television. The Art of War (2005 ), 4 x 26 minutes was made with the Australian War Memorial, written by Betty Churcher. It was produced by Early Works (Philippa Campey, Andrea Foxworthy), directed by John Hughes and commissioned by SBS Independent with Film Australia (Executive Producer Anna Grieve)

Hidden Treasures Series 1 (2006) 15 x 5 minutes, with The National Gallery of Australia, Hidden Treasures Series 2 (2008) 10 x 5 minutes, with the National Library of Australia and An Unstoppable Force: Betty Churcher with John Olsen (2008) 26 minutes were all made with ABC TV and Film Australia (Executive Producer Anna Grieve).
